Dispensed the world over, to correct Keratoconus

Attributes

Rose K2™ and Rose K™ lenses are dispensed the world over, to correct Keratoconus. Featuring a systematic approach to fitting and a flexible edge lift, posterior aspheric optics provides aberration control for improved vision, enhanced contrast, and comfort. The Rose K family of lenses includes many designs to fit all corneal shapes, sizes and irregularities.  The designs include, Rose K, Rose K2, Rose K2 IC, Rose K2 Post Graft, and Rose K2 XL, and Rose K2 Nipple Cones.

The use of diagnostic lenses is necessary to properly assess the correct fit and final lens power.  Rose K2 lenses have an aspheric posterior optical zone that controls spherical aberration, increasing optical zone diameter, reducing halo, flare and glare, while improving comfort. This provides advanced Keratoconus patients with improved visual acuity – often up to two lines of improvement.  Larger diameter Rose K lenses with aberration control aspheric optics provide numerous benefits while resolving problems associated with fitting specialty GP lenses for those with Keratoconus.

Indications for Rose K lenses may include:  Keratoconus, Pellucid Marginal Degeneration, Keratoglobus, Moderate and Steep Nipple Cones, LASIK induced Ectasia, Post Graft, and patients who have undergone Penetrating Keratoplasty.  The approach to fit all of the lenses follows a simple systematic approach.  The proven “Systematic Approach to Fitting” applies to all Rose K designs and allows for a final lens choice in a shorter period of time (fewer office visits).  They provide better vision performance while maintaining optimum corneal health.

Fitting Philosophy

All lenses in the Rose K family are easy to fit using a simple systematic approach which includes a simple to use flexible edge lift system. The peripheral fit is the single most important fitting factor for a successful, comfortable GP fit. Rather than a complicated series of radii and diameters, all Rose K lenses use a simple value referred to as Edge Lift to determine the optimal peripheral configuration. From the diagnostic lens, an edge lift value referred to as standard, increased lift (flat) or decreased lift (steep) can be ordered  The final lens is automatically compensated (base curve and power, no calculations are required), so the change in edge lift (which alters the sagittal height) does not affect the central fit!

With Rose K2 and Rose K lenses, 85% of all lenses dispensed use either the standard edge, standard flat (increased) or standard steep (decreased) edge lift to achieve the desired peripheral fit. However, other edge lift values can be specified in 0.1 increments ranging from -1.3 steep (decreased) to +3.0 flat (increased)

With Rose K2 IC and Rose K2 Post Graft lenses, the flexible edge lift system is available in 5 different values: standard, standard steep (decreased), standard flat (increased), double steep or double flat edge lift

Advanced fitting options are available.  The lenses can be ordered with toric peripheral curvs, Asymmetric Corneal Technology (ACT) and front, back and bi-toric options.

The Rose K lens’s “Systematic Approach to Fitting” provides a step-by-step fitting process, which results in consistent, dependable fits. This simplified fitting process reduces warranty exchanges, return visits and chair time, while providing better comfort, long-term corneal health and a higher quality of vision.
