Controlled Peripheral Recess Technology Available for all Onefit Lenses

Controlled Peripheral Recess Technology Now Available For the Onefit Family of Scleral Lenses

Blanchard has unveiled their latest design option for their highly successful Onefit and Onefit MED scleral lenses.  Controlled Peripheral Recess, or “CPR”, is a new technologically advanced manufacturing process that creates a precise, controlled and reproducible peripheral recess on a lens, to accommodate pingueculas and any other types of growths and shunts. This state-of-the-art new technology not only replaces the manual notching process – which was challenging to replicate and had limitations – but also greatly expands design options and the control practitioners have in creating their ideal lens.

CPR technology is available on all Onefit and Onefit MED lens designs (Spherical, Sym-Toric, Toric Peripheral Curve and Quadrant Specific).  The extremely user-friendly CPR Tool keeps you in control of CPR placement and size, simplifies the design and ordering process, and provides a visual representation of the lens design.

“We are pleased to now be able to provide this new recess technology to meet the needs of eye care practitioners” said Jean Blanchard, President of Blanchard Contact Lenses.  “In the past, notches were created manually to accommodate growths and shunts, and were very difficult to replicate.  Therefore, we developed a sophisticated machining process to create highly precise recesses (up to two per lens).  This substantially expands design options and provides a far superior product than hand notching could produce.”
